A beloved community tradition since 1948, the Los Altos Kiwanis Pet Parade is a celebration that attracts thousands of people every year, along with their pets, wagons, bicycles, parents and neighbors. Hundreds of kids and their dogs, cats, birds, chickens – and even worms – participate, as well as youth groups, marching bands and dignitaries in vintage cars. Traditionally, we have held the Los Altos Kiwanis Pet Parade annually on the Saturday following Mother’s Day.
This free “Los Altos Heritage Event” will begin on Main Street at First Street promptly at 10:00 am. This year’s event is Saturday May 17, 2014. While official registration (see link below) closes May 6, we do not turn away people who want to march in the parade. Look for Kiwanis members and volunteers before the parade to see where you should be staged prior to the march down Main and State Streets.
